In 10 days Prof. Darnton will be with us!
Prof. Robert Darnton, the prestigious Culture Historian auhtor of many books about the History of books and publishing such as “The Business of Enlightenment: A Publishing History of the Encyclopédie” and former director of the University Library at Harvard is coming to Frankfurt and will hold the key note speech “Censors at Work: How States Shaped Literature”. This is also the title of his last work. Don´t miss it!
This speech will be followed by the round table “Emerging Global Trends in University Press Publishing” at which Peter Schoppert, Juan Felipe Córdoba Restrepo, Philip Cercone, Carlos Gazzera, Isabella Meinecke and Dario Stukalsky are participating.
At this year´s edition there will be a new experience for discussion. In our Fishl Bowl everyone is invited to participate and have his say on the topic “Academy or the general reading public”.
The International Convention of University Presses will take place on Saturday, the 17th October between 9 am and 3.30 pm in hall 4.2, room Dimension.
